Lenora is Five!

Our sweet Lenora Faye is now a big 5-year-old! How the years fly by so quickly I'll never know.

Since Lenora had a friend birthday party last year, this year we kept things simple. She invited her best friend Tessa over to play and for dinner. We decorated unicorn cupcakes and they turned out so cute!

Hazel took it upon herself to decorate the kitchen and table for Lenora's birthday dinner. She did such a great job! Lenora's tradition of bratwursts for dinner on her birthday continues. This little girl loves her meat especially sausage in any form.

On her actual birthday we planned a trip to Louisville so Michael and I could go to the temple. The plan was for the kids to attend the planetarium, but because of "winter weather" (a dusting of snow in the grass) they cancelled the show. Oh Kentucky, we still do not understand your aversion to weather in any form. Instead the kids visited Cabella's to see the animals and the mall to play.

Afterwards we had a fun family dinner at Steak-and-Shake. Michael let the waiters know we were celebrating Lenora's birthday so they could come sing to her. It was so funny because Lenora completely ignored them the whole time. She doesn't much like being the center of attention. She just kept her eyes down and ate her ice cream haha! Now we know not to make a big fuss I guess.

Lenora, there is so much we love about your fun personality right now. You can be such a goofball. You will often do funny things then just bust up laughing. You have the BEST belly laugh! It's contagious and if Lenora starts laughing, everyone is laughing. Here's a small sample of your silly side.

Lenora loves playing dolls and Calico Critters. She is so sweet to her babies and will often fall asleep at night with one of her babies snuggled up to her. When Conrad is sad or upset, Lenora often plays little games like "Peek-a-boo" with him.

Lenora and Michael have a fun bedtime tradition right now. Every night he wraps her up really tightly in her blanket then decides what type of food she is that night. It's different every night - hog dogs, taquitos, crepes, enchiladas, snow cones, etc. Then he eats her up. She loves it and looks forward to it every night.

Here are a few fun things about Lenora in her own words:
