Day 5:
Eliza was ready for the day with her styling Jr. Ranger hair!
We spent a bit of time in the morning seeing sights in Hill City which was only a few minutes from our cabin. The giant wooden bear and the train were bit hits.
Then we headed to the Crazy Horse memorial. We almost skipped this, but I'm SO glad we went. While we were there, we heard the most incredible presentation by a Lakota woman. She told the story of the Native Americans in a way that was so powerful and moving. She also shared some of their beliefs (which are remarkably similar to our own.) We LOVED it! It was hands down the most inspirational part of the whole trip!
We spent the afternoon seeing the Northern part of Custer State park especially Sylan Lake. It did NOT disappoint!

| Eliza managed to pick up a wild bird! She thought it was injured, but after she held it a minute it flew out of her hand. Crazy! |
Then more swimming and foil dinners. Michael and I put the kids to bed then headed back to Crazy Horse to see the evening light show.
