Five Things for Friday: Slowly Thawing!

The last few weeks have finally brought some warmer weather! We'd had snow on the ground since Christmas so it was nice to finally see the grass again. Before it all melted, we were able to catch a nice sunny day of sledding! Even Orson took a short run down the hill on my lap. We also enjoyed a Saturday afternoon at the park while Michael was at school. He was gone a lot in February between his conference in New York and school on Saturdays so it was nice to be able to get out and run. Eliza learned how to go down the fireman's pole and convinced Hazel to give it a try too. She's been afraid of them for a long time but finally conquered her fear!

My younger girls are at such cute stages right now! Eliza was so, so, so excited for Valentine's day. She loved decorating her box and picking out the perfect outfit for her party at preschool. She loves to color and tells me "close your eyes" before presenting me with her finished projects. 

Lenora is talking up a storm! The other day in the car she randomly said, "Mama, you no put a bow in Orson hair. He not a girl! He a boy!" So smart for 26 months. She also recently learned how to sign her name and it is adorable! We still need to catch a good video.

Mr. Orson has found his feet and he loves them! He figured out how to roll from his tummy to his back and often rolls on his side to reach for toys (or to play with his feet!) Last week, I even let him sit in the shopping cart like a big boy. He's growing up SO fast!

Last week Hazel had a concert at school. The music teacher was teaching a few signs to one song and decided to have Hazel come up front and sign the whole song. It was called, "I Love my Family." Hazel was really nervous but she did an amazing job! There were definitely some moist eyes in the audience after all the kids sang/signed the sweet tribute to their families (especially to my right where Michael was beaming with pride).

This scripture has really touched me recently especially as it relates to our work as parents (D&C64:33-34): 

 33 Wherefore, be not weary in well-doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work. And out of small things proceedeth that which is great.

 34 Behold, the Lord requireth the heart and a willing mind; and the willing and obedient shall eat the good of the land of Zion in these last days.
