Fearless Little Eliza is already eleven years old!! How much longer will she be Little E? Probaby forever in our books!
Eliza wanted her own birthday party with just a few friends. She doesn't like big parties because she feels like you don't get a good visit in with anyone (wise girl!). So she had just two friends from church over for a late night making apples pies, painting nails, and watching a movie.

This sweet girl knew exactly what she wanted for her birthday (a Fitbit), but we did manage to surprise her with some rocking shoes I knew she'd love and a fun handwriting book. She and Hazel both have recently developed a love for fancy cursive.
Eliza requested to make her own cake. She made her favorite chocolate cake frosted to look like a stary sky. It was beautiful (though I think she'll hold off a bit on the food coloring next time haha!)
Gymnastics is still life for Eliza. She moved up to Xcell Silver for the fall and can't wait! When not doing gymnastics or reading this summer, she spent her time learning to solve a Rubix cube, playing with chickens, crafting things, helping watch a toddler in our area to earn money for gymnastics, and enjoying the outdoors.
She's most definitely a tween. This year she discovered playlists, curling irons, a love for emailing her friends, and of course selfies haha! This is a fun age though because we also get to have deep conversations and watch her beginning to take on real responsibility. She's been 100% caring for the chickens this summer and doing a great job!
She may be little E, but she is growing! She was so sad to grow out of her favorite nightgown. We also just went shoe shopping and realized she now has bigger feet than I do!
Eliza is still a fast and loyal friend. She is always making new friends wherever we go. In our ward, there are two girls her age with some special needs. At first, she struggled with wanting to correct them for minor misbehaviors. When I talked to her about ways they could be included, she took it seriously and wanted to learn how to connect with them. She listened carefully as their mom talked in their class and then invited them over for a playdate. It was inspiring to see her go from unintentionally excluding, to going out of her way to find a way to form a friendship. She and the girls had a great time during their visit! Now on Sundays she knows how to interact with them better and interests they share. I appreciate Eliza's willingness to take feedback, learn more, and improve!
