Showing Chickens

Me and Hazel showed chickens at the county fair. There was a costume party, and then there was showmanship, and there was a special class that you were sorted in to. So me and Hazel's chickens were sorted in to the utility class.

Before we showed chickens we had to wash them.  When you give a chicken a bath, they don't like it at first. But then, when you put their head under the water it calms them down.

These were our costumes. Fluffy was a ballerina, and Hazel's chicken was Hermione Granger from Harry Potter.

When we did showmanship, the judge asked us questions about our chickens, and we had to answer them. They were all easy questions, and it didn't take that long. But it was still fun! 

Hazel's chicken won first place in the utility class! My chicken won second place in the class. We each won $10!

 It was fun! This is me holding Fluffy.

(We love 4H! The girls loved showing chickens, and we loved all they're learning. Also, don't we have the cutest farm boys around?)
