Birthday Boy 2

Orson is five! Five! I have no idea how this sweet boy has gotten so old already. And could he be any cuter!?! Those eyes, his light dusting of freckles, that dimple!

Mr. Orson, you are just the sweetest little boy I know. You are helpful, kind, excited about life and learning, and generally a really chill kid. This year you, along with Daddy, have discovered a hobby that you LOVE - fishing!!! Here you are with the first fish you caught on your own.
You are always game for a morning at the lake fishing. Daddy has loved taking you, and you love every minute of going. Often you don't want to leave because you "see a big one" and can't wait to catch it.

I'm so glad you found something that brings you so much joy!

Other things you enjoy doing these days include: building all sorts of things (here's a picture with your "bug house." You told me the bugs liked it so much they already moved in. Sure enough there were teeny, tiny red bugs all over it.)

Playing dress up...

Being silly...
Reading. I love that you're learning to love books as much as the rest of us. In fact, today you made sure to include a book on your Christmas list. You know all of your letters and most of the letter sounds. I bet this time next year you'll be reading on your own!

Playing with Conrad. It's fun to see you two do more and more "boy things" together like wrestling, making this dump truck train, general rough-housing, etc.

Sometimes you play a bit too hard. One day you fell off a log at forest school and gave yourself one of the biggest fat lips I've ever seen.

Speaking of Forest School, you look forward to it every week. I love Forest School days too because while the girls are off playing with friends and exploring, you usually plop yourself down on my lap and we have a good chat. Then you're off to explore and play too. You love the outdoors and have an endless imagination.

Orson, you have a tender heart and show love freely. You are always offering a hug, a cuddle, or holding the hand of someone who needs it. No wonder everyone adores you so much! One day we hiked with Gram and Grandpa and I caught this cute picture. You just walked right up to Grandpa and grabbed his hand. He loved every minute of it!

Happy Birthday Orson! We love you so much!!
