I forgot to mention that Hazel honored her birthday by taking 3 steps by herself! Right now she'll take a few steps to get to something she wants but soon she'll be walking everywhere.

Hazel at a Year
While we were in Utah we had a birthday party for Hazel with family. It was a blast and of course Hazel had fun. Her favorite present was a free balloon that my Aunt Holly got at the dry cleaners and attached to her gift haha. She went wild with that thing.

After presents we had cake. Naturally Hazel loved it and made a huge mess. When she was done she sat with her hands behind her head like an old man:)

On her actual birthday we took her to the zoo and she got more cake:) You may not care, but here's a what Hazel's doing now...
- She says "bye-bye" in a funny, dreamy voice anytime someone leaves the room or puts on their shoes
- She waves hello, points to items she wants, laughs/claps when she hears other people laughing/clapping
- She is imitating everything. This morning I was coughing and she did a cute fake cough too:)
- She's starting to sign dog while saying "doggie" She still signs milk all the time but now it means a variety of things mostly that she's hungry.
- She will randomly give us hugs:)
- She is not afraid of anything! Yesterday she went on a spinny kid ride all by herself and LOVED it!
She has grown up so fast we cannot believe it. She is an amazing girl with lots of spirit. Mike swears her personality is exactly like mine. We are so blessed to have her in our family!

Blog Catch Up
I've been way behind on our blog so here's my attempt to catch up....
We had a great Memorial Day weekend. I was off Monday and Tuesday so we were able to go do some fun things. We had dinner with several friends and just spent time as a family. We decided to get a membership to the Chyenne Mountain Zoo and we're so glad we did. Hazel LOVED the zoo. She got so excited every time we saw an animal. The only part she didn't enjoy was feeding the giraffes. She wanted to eat the 'giraffe cracker' and was upset when the giraffe took it from her:) Haha.
Last week was also my birthday. I had a great day! Mike got me Glee on DVD, some clothes, and tickets to go see the BodyWorlds Exhibit in Denver. We left Hazel with my parents and had a great date night going to the exhibit. I LOVED every minute of it - I'm such an anatomy nerd. Mike even enjoyed it. You couldn't take pictures inside so this is the only picture we got. Seriously if you ever have a chance to see it - GO! It's amazing.

We've been busy packing to move to our new apartment on Saturday! We can't wait! It's about the same size as our apartment now, but much nicer. It has two bathrooms and a patio neither of which we have now. Also the complex has a playground which Hazel will love. I'll post pictures as soon as we get settled.
After BodyWorlds on Friday we spent the rest of the weekend seeing my cute brother Harrison off on his mission. He's going to Halifax Canada and entered the MTC on June 9th. He's an awesome kid! I love that boy. We'll sure miss him while he's gone, but we know how important the work he's going to do is. My dad is a living testimony that missionaries do amazing work by bringing people to the gospel and allowing it to change their lives. We love you Harrison!

Grandma Teri
Mike's Mom was in town for an ice skating conference this week. It was SO much fun to see her. She hadn't seen Hazel since Christmas. Needless to say we all had a blast.

Sunday afternoon we took her to Garden of the Gods. It was beautiful as always:)

After Teri's skating conference ended on Wednesday, she was able to have fun with Mike and Hazel. They toured the Black Forest Fire Station where Teri's good friend from California now works. Hazel had fun hanging out with the big trucks!

It was so much fun to have her here. Luckily we get to see her again in July. We can't wait. We love you Grandma Teri!
She brought Hazel the most adorable outfit ever.

Congrats Mike....
.... on your AA in Communications! We're very proud of you:)

With the way credits transferred to Colorado, it was better for Mike to start at Pike's Peak Community College and get his AA then transfer. Next stop, UCCS:) And because he already has some upper division credits from UVSC he should only have 3 semesters left.

Glimpses of Summer....
Utah Trip
A few weeks ago Hazel and I drove to Utah with my parents for a long weekend. My brother-in-law Jake was graduating from BYU and we couldn't miss the chance to see family and friends. We had a wonderful trip and Hazel was a total angel the entire time! Seriously, she was totally off her schedule, didn't nap anywhere but the car or the stroller, and was up late sometimes, but she just went with the flow. That's my girl! She totally crashed once we got home though, haha.

She was excited to start our trip:)
Gabby and Jake at graduation. Jake graduated in Construction Management and already has a job with a woodworking company. Congrats Jake!!!!
Unfortunately it was raining pretty hard after the graduation ceremony so we didn't get many pictures, but here's a cute one of Hazel and Harrison.
We met up with Uncle TJ at In-n-Out for lunch:)
Hazel with Uncle Harrison shopping for his mission. He's going to the Halifax Canada mission! Hazel made sure he would be styling:)
It was a great trip! We were sad Mike couldn't come with us, but he had school. The best part of the trip was coming home to find the house clean and dinner waiting of the table for us. Mike's the best!
